One Family’s Story
“My son was diagnosed with autism at 3 years old and I remember that day perfectly. Many tears were shed that day and in the days following. With the help of the tremendous community at LittleStar, I was able to come to a place where I knew that everything was going to be ok and potentially even wonderful.
Upon diagnosis, my son started receiving ABA therapy at LittleStar. LittleStar’s staff and therapeutic environment created a space where he began making progress almost immediately. My son loved going to therapy, he woke up early every day, including Saturday and Sunday requesting to go.
As therapy progressed he began to communicate with me, he told me what made him happy (Space Jam and skate boards,) he told me what makes him sad (sharing with his sister, running out of smarties), he told me what he needed which is so important to me as a mom, he independently said I love you, that is another day I will never forget.
LittleStar created spaces that encouraged learning and play. My son now plays with his peers because HE wants to, he goes to school, we can safely go into public now with less worry that he will run off, if it will be too loud or if there is the potential that we may run into a hand dryer. He learned to take care of himself, brush his teeth, take a shower, and get dressed!
Having a child diagnosed with autism is very difficult and scary, it was a whole new world for me and my family to navigate. LittleStar ABA Therapy gave us a new hope, the sky is the limit for my kid, and no thank you that I could say would ever be enough, but I am truly grateful. LittleStar ABA therapy truly changed my son’s life, and mine. “
