One of Our Own Honored as CFO of the Year!

Bill Brunner, Little Star board member and chief financial officer (CFO) for J.D. Byrider, has been named a top honoree for the 2012 Indianapolis Business Journal CFO of the Year Award!  This is the fifth year that the IBJ has recognized top financial leaders. Its goal is to showcase the important but under-recognized executive position which is an integral part of any company’s success.

According to the IBJ, “Today’s successful CFO has a much greater scope of responsibilities than the traditional duties of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and capital financing….the ongoing challenging business environment dictates that a successful CFO assume an integral part of the operational and strategic leadership.”

There were 12 honorees in four categories: two categories for private companies based on revenue, a public company and not-for-profit sector.  There is a top honoree for each of the four categories, of which Bill is one.

IBJ President and Publisher Greg Morris noted that “several factors were considered as finalists and winners were chosen:  dedication to their organizations’ obligations; high ethical standards; contributions to their organizations’ overall growth; and their involvement in the community.”

Mary Rosswurm, Little Star executive director commented, “We really excited for Bill! We are very privileged to have him on our board as he brings so much to Little Star. He is a huge part of our success as an organization.
