ALL SORTS OF CHARACTERS SHOW UP AT LITTLE STAR CENTER ON HALLOWEEN 2012

Little Star celebrated the Halloween holiday on October 31 with costumes worn by learners and staff, trick or treating through the halls of J.D. Byrider’s headquarter office, our office complex neighbor, and joining our other neighbor Experian, for their company party for the children of their staff.  Everybody had “wicked” fun dressing up and enjoying tasty treats!

Dr. Rose Wolflin, J.D. Byrider Senior Corporate Certified Paralegal, and Little Star board member said, “J.D. Byrider (JDB) has long supported Little Star (LSC)–  since LSC’s inception in 2002.  JDB employees enjoy interacting with the children.”     Executive Director Mary Rosswurm said, “The events give our learners two opportunities to practice trick-or-treating so they are more prepared when they go out with their family on Halloween night.”The annual LSC tradition is one of the most popular celebrations at the center, as you can probably tell by the photo collage!

Festivities included a staff costume contest judged by a team that included other staff members Megan Fager, Dwayne McCoy, Debbie Rowland, LouAnn Monts, and Lisa Steward. Therapist Tracy Abel, dressed as a monkey, won Funniest Costume category; Therapist Kathy Betalak won Best Homemade Costume in her Cheez-It outfit; Team Leader Hilary Ulrich won the Most Creative Costume dressed as a skeleton which included a skeleton over her belly for her baby-to-be; and the Best Group/Couple Costume award went  the clinical team in the early learner program. They dressed as an icon exchange communication system board and pictures (some nonverbal children use an icon exchange system to communicate with others).

Congratulations to all!
