“A FIGHTING CHANCE” SELF-DEFENSE FOR WOMEN

Did you know that one in four women will be attacked during her lifetime? That a woman will know her attacker 75% of the time? That women who resist effectively are twice as likely to escape injury as others?

Little Star Center recently offered its female staff members and the wives of male staff members the opportunity to attend the Level 1 workshop offered by A Fighting Chance, a self-defense class taught by a woman for women.  The class teaches effective physical techniques designed to cater to a woman’s unique strengths, as well as emotionally and mentally prepare her to resist an attack.

Executive Director Mary Rosswurm said, “The majority of our staff are young women, many from out-of-state and I want to give them an advantage in the event of a problem when they are out.  This is our second time to host the workshop and I have found that the participants find the training meaningful.”
